Synergy Electronics Recycling's Madison facility is certified to R2:2013 which has strict standards for the destruction of data. The site is under 24/7 video surveillance monitoring. All data bearing material is stored in a locked part of the facility which is accessible only by authorized individuals.
You Choose the Method and the Standard
Data can be destroyed either by data wiping or by physical destruction. With data wiping, data is removed leaving the drive free of your information. The standard practice at SER is to wipe to NIST 800-88 standards, but wiping to Department of Defense (DOD) standards can be accommodated upon request.
With physical destruction, your hard drive is shredded into one-inch pieces using in our in-house shredding and mechanical separation equipment, which generates scrap materials from your drive.
Certificate of Destruction
Upon request, SER will provide a Certificate of Destruction (COD) for your material. Material can be reported on a COD by count, by weight, by serial number or by other identifying information (asset tag, etc).
